Travelling to The Great Trossachs Forest
By Car
From Junction 10 on the M9 motorway & Stirling, take the A84 to Callander, and then the A821 towards Brig o’ Turk.
From Perth, take the A9 south to Dunblane and then the A820/A84 to Callander.
From Glasgow, take the A81 to Aberfoyle and then either head north on the A821 towards Loch Katrine or take the B829 towards Inversnaid.
Please note the B829 from Aberfoyle to Inversnaid and Stronachlachar is a narrow road with passing places. In summer, the road can be very busy.
by Train or Boat
ScotRail’s West Highlands route (Glasgow – Oban/Fort William) stops at Tarbet to connect with the Waterbus service across Loch Lomond to Inversnaid.
by Bus
There are buses from Stirling to Callander (No 59) and from Stirling/Glasgow to Aberfoyle (X10A).
Travelling around The Great Trossachs Forest by public transport
A Demand Responsive Transport (DRT) service operates within the Trossachs where there are no regular bus routes. DRT operates like a taxi and costs around the same as bus fare.
