The Great Trossachs Forest has developed teaching resources for different subjects.

  • Geography
    These resources will help you deliver high quality learning for pupils studying Geography at Secondary School. Teaching & learning outcomes for: Nationals 3, 4 and 5 Physical Environment Unit using 'glaciated uplands' and Global Issues Unit using climate change, tourism or the impact of human activity on the natural environment as examples. Ideas for Higher/Advanced Higher field work is also provided.
  • Art and Design
    These resources will help you deliver high quality learning for pupils studying Art and Design at Secondary School. Teaching and learning outcomes for: Curriculum for Excellence Level 3 for Art and Design as well as Literacy, Numeracy and Health and Wellbeing across learning experiences and outcomes.
  • Biology
    These resources will help you deliver high quality learning for pupils studying biology at Secondary School. Teaching and learning outcomes for: Nationals 3, 4 and 5 Life on Earth Unit as well as Higher Assessment relating to Sustainability and skills for learning, life and work.

Contained within each subject are a series of fact sheets, short films to compliment the subjects and suggested activities for the classroom and as part of outdoor learning. All the written information is provided in either pdfs or editable word documents so they can be tailored to suit different needs and teaching styles. The resource pack also provides useful information about bringing a class to The Great Trossachs Forest along with contact information should ranger support be required during the visit.
